Local Language RequirementThis is one of the most important eligibility conditions for IOB LBO Recruitment 2026. Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the specified local language of the state for which they apply.
Candidates who studied the specified local language as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12 and can produce the relevant marksheet/certificate will not be required to appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Candidates who did not study the specified language in Class 10 or 12 will have to qualify in the LPT if shortlisted for that stage. The ₹175 charge for SC/ST/PwBD candidates is described by IOB as intimation charges only. The amounts are inclusive of GST. Salary and Benefits of IOB LBO 2026Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Manager (Scale-I). IOB LBO Pay Scale ₹48,480 – ₹2,000/7 – ₹62,480 – ₹2,340/2 – ₹67,160 – ₹2,680/7 – ₹85,920 The bank states that DA, HRA, CCA and other applicable allowances/perquisites will be provided according to the rules in force from time to time. Probation Period Selected candidates will remain on probation for 2 years of active service from the date of joining the bank. Confirmation will be governed by the applicable Officers’ Service Regulations. Service Bond Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2,00,000 for rendering service for a minimum period of 3 years. Prior Banking Experience Benefit The notification provides for one advance increment for each completed year of prior service as an Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks, subject to a maximum of two increments and the prescribed condition that the existing job profile substantially matches the Scale-I Generalist Officer profile of IOB. Selection Process of IOB LBO Recruitment 2026The IOB LBO Selection Process 2026 consists of: Online Examination → Language Proficiency Test (where applicable) → Personal Interview → Final Merit Candidates qualifying in the online examination will proceed to the LPT where applicable. The Personal Interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for unreserved candidates and 45% for reserved candidates. The online examination contains 140 objective-type questions carrying 200 marks. There is negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to the question for every wrong answer. No marks are deducted for an unanswered question.
Online Exam Qualifying Marks

- Reserved: 30%
There are no sectional qualifying marks in the online examination. The cumulative score of all four sections will be used for shortlisting candidates.
Language Proficiency Test
The LPT checks proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the local language of the applied state.
Candidates who studied the required language in Class 10 or 12 and provide the relevant certificate/marksheet are exempt from the LPT.
