Selection Process Of Madras High Court Jobs 2025:

1. Common Written Examination: (Maximum Marks: 65, Duration: 90 minutes)    

   • The exam will have 65 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark (no negative marking).

     • Part B: Basic Knowledge (Bilingual) – 40 marks, Minimum qualifying marks: 10    

       The exam will be in a single paper with two parts:

   • The marks obtained in Part A are only qualifying in nature and will not be counted for the final selection.    
   • Marks in Part B will be used to shortlist candidates for the Skill Test.    

2. Skill Test: (Maximum Marks: 40, Minimum qualifying marks: 10)    

   • Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will be called for a Skill Test.    
   • The Skill Test will assess job-specific skills:
     • For Sweeper and Sanitary Worker: skills in mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, water management and safety, sweeping, sanitation, etc.    
     • For Gardener and Waterman: skills in gardening, handling and maintaining gardening equipment, trimming, pruning thinning of trees and plants, preparation of different flower beds and tree pits, water management and safety, sweeping, sanitation, etc.    
     • For Watchman: skills in office maintenance and safety; maintenance of entry/ exit register, patrolling campus, office well keeping, other office duties, knowledge of basic security and fire safety etc.    

3. Certificate Verification:

   • Candidates will be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on their Skill Test marks.    
   • The shortlisting ratio will be 1:2 if there are five or more vacancies, and 1:3 if there are four or fewer vacancies.    
   • Weightage will be given to relevant work experience during Certificate Verification.    

4. Final Selection:

   • Final selection will be based on the combined marks of Part B of the Common Written Examination, Skill Test, and Certificate Verification, as per merit and reservation rules.

Syllabus Details

The Common Written Examination syllabus is designed to assess candidates’ basic knowledge and language proficiency. It is structured into two parts: Part A and Part B, and is based on the 8th standard level of the Tamil Nadu State Government Syllabus.    

• Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test / General English

  • This section evaluates the candidate’s language proficiency.
