Job Responsibilities for Seaman

As a Seaman, your responsibilities will include:  

• Assisting the Tindel/Sukhani in the maintenance and upkeep of boat anchors, anchor handling, ropes, and fenders.  
• Performing daily maintenance and cleaning of decks, the wheelhouse, and living spaces.  
• Carrying out normal helmsman watch-keeping, lookout/guarding duties at sea, and security duties in the harbor during day and night shifts.  
• Assisting all staff in general duties, including cleaning and pumping out bilges.  
• Participating in regular quarterly/half-yearly/bottom maintenance of the hull, including lowering and hoisting the vessel, scrubbing, cleaning, and applying anti-fouling paint.  

Job Responsibilities for Greaser

As a Greaser, your duties will involve:  

• Assisting the Engine Driver/Launch Mechanic in cleaning machinery and equipment in the machinery compartment.  
• Performing daily maintenance routines on the main and auxiliary machinery of the craft.  
• Carrying out constant watch-keeping duties on running main and auxiliary machinery while at sea and in the harbor.  
• Assisting the Engine Driver/Launch Mechanic in the maintenance and repair of main and auxiliary machinery, equipment, and upkeep of spare tools.  

Job Responsibilities for Tradesman

As a Tradesman, you will be responsible for:  

• Assisting the Artisan in the repair and maintenance of all machinery/equipment sent for repair in the workshop by respective Boat Engineers/Boat in-charge.  
• Cleaning and maintaining all equipment, machinery, spars, and tools held in their section/workshop.  
• Undertaking assigned work in the workshop/stores, store yards, and department vessel/craft.  
• Performing any other duty assigned by the superior officer.

Eligibility Criteria Customs Pune Group C Recruitment 2025

To be eligible for the Customs Pune Group C Vacancy 2025, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

Qualification of Group C Customs Pune Recruitment 2025

• Seaman:

  • Essential: 10th Class pass or equivalent. Three years of experience in sea-going mechanized vessels with two years in helmsman and seamanship work.  
  • Desirable: Certificate of Competency as “Mate of fishing Vessel” issued by the Marine Mercantile Department.  

• Greaser:

  • Essential: 10th Class pass or equivalent. Three years’ experience in sea-going mechanized vessels on main and auxiliary machinery maintenance.  
  • Desirable: Certificate of Competency as “Engine driver of fishing vessel” issued by the Marine Mercantile Department.  

• Tradesman:

  • Essential: I.T.I. Certificate in Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic/Fitter/Turner/Welder/Electrician/Instrumental/Carpentry. 10th Class pass or equivalent. Two years’ experience in an Engineering/Automobile/Ship Repair Organization.  
  • Desirable: Experience in FRP lamination and repair work. First aid/Firefighting/Industrial safety Fibre class Re-enforce Plastic.  

Age Limit of Group C Customs Pune Recruitment 2025

• The age limit for all posts is between 18 to 25 years as on 26.04.2025.  
• Age relaxation is applicable as per the Central Government’s instructions:
  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 05 years  
  • Other Backward Class (non-creamy layer): 03 years  
  • Central Govt. Civilian employees: Up to 40 years/45 years (SC/ST)  
  • Ex-Serviceman: 03 years after deduction of military service
